The combination of gusty northwest winds, up to 25 to 30 mph, and low relative humidity, as low as 30 percent, on Saturday will produce an elevated risk of fire spread. The forecast considers meteorological, fuel, and land conditions and has been developed in coordination with state fire and land management officials.

There is an elevated risk for fire spread today across southern Connecticut. Northwest winds will gust to 25 to 30 mph while relative humidity falls to 25 to 30 percent.
