Weather in Andorra

Andorra is genuinely a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends entirely on your interests. Skiers and snowboarders should target December through March, when the Grandvalira and Vallnord ski areas are in full swing. Grandvalira alone encompasses over 200 kilometres of pistes across six sectors, making it one of the most impressive ski domains in southern Europe. Snow is generally reliable from December onwards, with February and March typically offering the most consistent conditions. Ski passes are notably cheaper than in neighbouring French and Swiss resorts.

Summer, from June through September, transforms Andorra into a superb hiking destination. The mountains come alive with wildflowers, alpine lakes glisten, and temperatures are pleasantly warm at altitude — rarely exceeding 24°C — making it ideal for walking, mountain biking, and exploring the country's historic chapels and villages without the ski crowds. July and August are the busiest months. Autumn is a quieter, beautiful season with golden foliage and uncrowded trails. Spring (April to May) can be unpredictable with lingering snow at altitude, but lower valleys are green and peaceful. Shopping deals are available year-round.
