Weather in Cambodia

Cambodia's most popular time to visit is during the cool, dry season from November through February. During these months, temperatures range from a comfortable 20°C to 30°C, skies are clear blue, and travel conditions are ideal across the country. This is the peak period for Angkor Wat visits, coastal beach holidays on Koh Rong or Kep, and overland travel to remote areas. December and January are the busiest months — book accommodation in Siem Reap well in advance during this window.

March through May brings intensifying heat, with April pushing temperatures above 38°C in many areas — the Angkor temples are best visited at dawn and dusk during this period. The monsoon season from June to October brings heavy afternoon rains but also lush green landscapes, waterfalls in full force, and dramatically fewer tourists. The Tonle Sap lake expands magnificently during this period and boat trips through floating villages become especially atmospheric. The Water Festival (Bon Om Touk) held in November at the reversal of the Tonle Sap is one of Southeast Asia's most spectacular celebrations.
