Weather in Caribbean Netherlands

The Caribbean Netherlands enjoy warm, sunny weather year-round, with Bonaire in particular sitting outside the main hurricane belt — making it one of the Caribbean's most reliably good-weather destinations. The dry season from January through August offers the clearest skies and calmest seas, with temperatures hovering between 26°C and 32°C. Trade winds provide a constant, refreshing breeze that keeps the heat comfortable even at the height of summer.

The wettest months are October through December, when brief tropical showers can occur, though prolonged overcast periods are unusual. Saba and Sint Eustatius, sitting slightly further north, do experience more rainfall and can occasionally be affected by tropical systems in September and October — check forecasts if visiting during the Atlantic hurricane season (June through November). For diving on Bonaire's legendary reefs, visibility is excellent year-round but peaks between April and August. Whale watching off Saba is possible from December through April when humpback whales migrate through the waters.
