Weather in Curaçao

Curaçao enjoys a semi-arid climate with year-round sunshine, making it one of the most consistently pleasant Caribbean destinations at any time of year. The island sits outside the main hurricane belt, so tropical storms are rare. Average temperatures hover between 27°C and 31°C throughout the year, cooled by steady trade winds from the northeast. The driest and sunniest stretch runs from January through September, with peak conditions for diving and beach-going between February and April when trade winds are lightest and visibility underwater is at its best.

October through December sees slightly higher humidity and occasional brief showers, but rain rarely disrupts travel plans for more than an hour or two. The Christmas and New Year period brings festive energy to Willemstad, along with higher hotel rates. If you want fewer crowds and good value, consider visiting in May, June, or October, when the island is quieter but conditions remain excellent. Carnival season in January–February is electric if you enjoy festivities, but book accommodation well in advance.
