Weather in Cyprus

Cyprus enjoys one of the longest and most reliable summer seasons in Europe, with around 340 sunny days per year. The peak beach season runs from June through September, when temperatures regularly exceed 35°C and the sea is bathwater warm. July and August are the most popular months but also the hottest and most crowded, with hotels at full capacity and higher prices. Spring — particularly April and May — is arguably the finest time to visit: temperatures are pleasantly warm around 22–28°C, wildflowers carpet the hillsides, and the island's many archaeological sites can be explored in comfort without the summer crowds.

October and November offer another sweet spot, with warm sea temperatures persisting from summer and golden light bathing the landscape. The Troodos Mountains receive snow from December through February, making them an unlikely but genuine ski destination during winter — combine a morning on the slopes with an afternoon at the beach for a uniquely Cypriot experience. Winter in the lowlands is mild (12–18°C) and ideal for hiking, cycling, and cultural tourism. Easter is an especially atmospheric time, with candlelit processions and celebratory feasting in villages throughout the island.
