Weather in Poland

The ideal time to visit Poland is from late April through September, when long daylight hours, mild temperatures, and full tourist infrastructure make exploration comfortable. May and June are particularly delightful — spring flowers bloom across the countryside, outdoor café terraces fill up, and crowds have not yet peaked. June through August brings the warmest weather, with temperatures averaging 20–26°C, making it perfect for Baltic beach holidays, hiking in the Tatras, and kayaking through the Masurian Lakes district.

Autumn (September and October) offers a slower pace and spectacular foliage in forests like Białowieża, with pleasant temperatures before the first frosts arrive. Winter, from December through February, transforms Poland into a festive wonderland — Christmas markets in Kraków and Wrocław are among Europe's most atmospheric, and the snow-dusted Tatra Mountains offer skiing at Zakopane. January and February can be bitterly cold, but prices drop significantly, and the major cultural attractions remain open and far less crowded.
