Weather in Saint Kitts and Nevis

The best time to visit Saint Kitts and Nevis is from December through April, when the Caribbean dry season brings reliable sunshine, low humidity, and temperatures comfortably in the mid-to-upper 20s Celsius. This peak season coincides with the holiday period and the months when the island is most vibrant socially, with restaurants fully open and water sports operators at full capacity. The Christmas and New Year period brings the famous Sugar Mas Carnival to Basseterre, adding a festive cultural dimension to the island's natural appeal.

May through November is the wet season, with the hurricane risk peaking between August and October. However, many travellers find the shoulder months of May, June, and November offer excellent value — prices drop significantly, the islands are green and lush from early rains, and the weather is frequently very pleasant with only brief afternoon showers. The sea is warm year-round at around 27–28°C, making diving and snorkelling excellent in any season. Those attending Sugar Mas in late December should book accommodation and flights months in advance as the island fills completely.
