Weather in Saint Martin

The best time to visit Saint Martin is during the dry season from December through April, when the island enjoys minimal rainfall, consistent sunshine, low humidity, and calm Caribbean waters perfect for sailing, snorkeling, and beach relaxation. January through March are the most reliably beautiful months climatically, with temperatures hovering comfortably between 24°C and 28°C. This is also peak season for the island's sailing community, with numerous regattas and boat charters operating at full capacity — the anchorages at Simpson Bay and Marigot Bay fill with yachts from across the Atlantic.

Carnival in February brings explosive festivity to the streets of both sides of the island, and the period around Christmas and New Year is exceptionally lively with parties, beach events, and a festive atmosphere that makes it one of the Caribbean's most enjoyable holiday destinations. The wet season from July through November brings warmer temperatures and higher humidity with occasional heavy showers. September and October mark the peak of hurricane season, and while serious storms are unpredictable, Saint Martin sustained significant damage from Hurricane Irma in 2017 and continues to rebuild with impressive resilience. Visiting in the low season (May–July) offers dramatically lower prices and a quieter, more local island experience.
