Weather in Trinidad and Tobago

The best time to visit Trinidad and Tobago is between January and May, during the dry season. These months bring lower rainfall, lower humidity, and sunshine-filled days that are perfect for beach trips to Tobago and outdoor exploration across both islands. January and February are particularly exciting if you're targeting Carnival, which typically falls in February or early March — one of the world's most spectacular street festivals and worth planning your trip around at least a year in advance due to accommodation demand.

The wet season runs roughly from June to November, coinciding with the Atlantic hurricane season. While Trinidad and Tobago sits south of the main hurricane belt and direct hits are rare, heavy rainfall and occasional tropical storm activity can disrupt travel plans from August through October. October and November are particularly wet months in Trinidad. That said, the wet season brings lush green landscapes and excellent birdwatching at the Asa Wright Nature Centre, as migratory species pass through. Surfers also prefer the stormier months for the swells they generate along the Atlantic-facing coasts.
