Weather in Turks and Caicos Islands

The best time to visit the Turks and Caicos Islands is from November through April, during the dry season. These months offer reliably sunny weather, low humidity, and the gentle trade winds that keep temperatures refreshingly comfortable — typically averaging 24°C to 29°C (75°F to 84°F). December through March is peak tourist season, bringing the most visitors and the highest accommodation prices, but also the best conditions for all water activities. From January to March, humpback whales pass through the Turks Island Passage on their annual migration, offering a spectacular wildlife bonus to the stunning diving.

Summer (June to August) is warm and more humid, with occasional afternoon showers that pass quickly. Accommodation prices drop significantly in summer, making it a cost-effective time for those comfortable with slightly less predictable weather. Hurricane season runs from June through November, with August and September posing the highest risk of tropical storms. The islands have been affected by major hurricanes historically — always monitor forecasts and ensure travel insurance covers weather disruptions if visiting between August and October. Outside of hurricane risk, late spring (May-June) offers excellent value, warm water, and comfortable conditions for beach and diving holidays.
