Weather in Uzbekistan

The best time to visit Uzbekistan is spring, from mid-March through May. During these months temperatures are pleasantly mild — ranging from 15°C to 28°C — wildflowers bloom across the steppe, and apricot orchards along the Fergana Valley burst into blossom. You'll find bazaars at their most vibrant, and the Navruz spring festival in late March transforms town squares into scenes of joyful celebration. Crowds are still manageable before the summer high season kicks in.

Autumn, particularly September and October, is equally rewarding. Temperatures cool from the intense summer heat, the harvest season brings pomegranates, grapes, and figs to market stalls, and the low golden light flatters the ancient monuments beautifully. Summer — June through August — can be extremely hot, especially in the desert regions, with temperatures exceeding 40°C, so plan outdoor sightseeing for early mornings. Winters are cold and dry, and while tourist numbers drop sharply, the snow-dusted domes of Samarkand create a magical atmosphere for those willing to brave the chill.
