Weather in Cuba

Cuba's best weather occurs between November and April, which is the dry season. During these months, temperatures are warm but not oppressive, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, skies are predominantly sunny, and humidity is lower than the rest of the year. December through February is peak tourist season — the weather is ideal, European and Canadian visitors fill the resorts, and accommodation prices are at their highest. If you want the best weather with slightly fewer crowds, November or late March through April can be excellent choices.

The rainy season runs from May through October, bringing daily afternoon showers, higher humidity, and temperatures regularly reaching 32°C. July through October is hurricane season, and while Cuba does not receive a direct hit every year, tropical storms can disrupt travel and cause significant disruption, particularly in the east of the island around Santiago de Cuba and Holguín. June and early July, before the most active hurricane period, can actually be a reasonable time to visit with fewer tourists, lower prices, and lush green landscapes. The Carnival celebrations in Santiago de Cuba in late July are one of the Caribbean's most spectacular festivals and worth planning around if your timing allows.
