Weather in Fiji

Fiji's dry season from May to October is the best time to visit for most travelers. During these months the weather is cooler and drier — temperatures range from 22°C to 28°C — with lower humidity and excellent diving visibility as river runoff from seasonal rains is minimal. July and August are the peak months, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and the clearest conditions for water activities. The shoulder months of May, June, and October offer nearly identical weather with lower prices and fewer fellow visitors.

The wet season from November to April brings higher humidity, heavier rain, and the possibility of cyclones, which typically affect Fiji from January through March. The rain falls in concentrated bursts rather than all-day drizzle, and many resort areas on the western side of Viti Levu are drier than the windward east. Diving conditions in Beqa Lagoon for the famous shark dive are excellent year-round. If budget travel is your priority, the wet season brings significant discounts on resort accommodation and package deals, with most days still sunny enough for beach and water activities.
