Weather in Lithuania

The best time to visit Lithuania is during the summer months of June, July, and August, when long days (up to 17 hours of daylight), warm temperatures of 18–24°C, and a full calendar of festivals make the country especially welcoming. The Baltic coast at Palanga and Nida becomes a lively summer resort destination, and the Curonian Spit beaches attract visitors from across the region. Midsummer's Eve (Joninės/Rasos) on June 23–24 is a particularly magical time, celebrated with bonfires, flower crowns, and ancient folk traditions.

Spring (April–May) and early autumn (September–October) offer pleasant conditions with fewer crowds, lower accommodation prices, and beautiful seasonal scenery — cherry blossoms in spring and amber-toned forests in autumn. Winter from December through February is cold, with temperatures regularly dropping below -5°C, but snow-covered Vilnius has its own romantic charm, and Christmas markets in the old town create a wonderfully atmospheric experience. The ski season in higher areas is modest but enjoyable.
