Weather in Luxembourg

The ideal time to visit Luxembourg is from May through September, when temperatures are comfortably warm and the countryside bursts into lush greenery. June and July are peak months, offering long daylight hours, open-air concerts, and vibrant riverside terraces. The Moselle valley is especially beautiful in late September and early October when the vineyard leaves turn gold and the Crémant harvest festivals fill the wine towns with music and merriment.

Winter has its own appeal: Christmas markets transform Luxembourg City's old town into a glittering wonderland from late November through December, and the Ardennes landscape looks stunning under a dusting of snow. Avoid mid-July and August if crowds bother you, as EU institutions empty their offices and tourists flood the capital. Spring shoulder season — March to May — offers blooming orchards, fewer visitors, and mild temperatures perfect for hiking the Mullerthal or cycling the Moselle cycle path.
