Nauru sits just south of the equator and enjoys a tropical climate throughout the year, with warm temperatures consistently in the 25–35°C range. The best time to visit is during the dry season, roughly from April to October, when rainfall is lower and conditions for snorkelling and outdoor exploration are most pleasant. Even during the drier months, brief tropical showers are possible, so pack a light rain jacket regardless of when you travel.

The wet season from November to March brings heavier rainfall and occasional rough seas, which can affect the clarity of the water for snorkelling. However, the island remains accessible year-round, and the reduced chance of other tourists during these months can make the experience feel even more exclusive.
